(i)  50x² – 2(x – 2)²

Take out common in all terms,

2[25x² – (x – 2)²]

2[(5x)² – (x – 2)²]

We know that, a² – b² = (a + b) (a – b)

2[(5x + x – 2) (5x – x + 2)]

2[(6x – 2) (4x + 2)]

2(6x – 2) (4x + 2)

(ii) (x – 2)(x + 2) + 3

We know that, a² – b² = (a + b) (a – b)

(x² – 2²) + 3

X² – 4 + 3

X² – 1

Then,

(x + 1) (x – 1)
