Answer :

(i) x² + 5x + 6

x² + 3x + 2x + 6

Take out common in all terms we get,

(ii) x² – 8x + 7

x² – 8x + 7

x² – 7x – x + 7

Take out common in all terms we get,

x(x – 7) – 1(x – 7)

(x – 7) (x – 1)
